Wednesday Features: Eyes of Grace

It's been a while since we last post the entry on Wednesday Features. It was our bad that we submitted the question quite late and everything seemed to be on hold.

This week, the WF is back with another renowned photographer who's eyes are incredible at capturing babies and kids. She has witnessed most of CGP works even before we officially started the business! Here's some of the photos of CGP works that she managed to capture so beautifully:

It's Eye of Grace!!

Alright, time to get to know the owner of Eyes of Grace better!

CGP: Tell us briefly about yourself.

EOG: My full name is Siti Zubaidah Rusli but people call me Zubye – pronounce as Zubai. Number 4^th from 9, I was born and grown up in a very warm hearted & loving family (that contributes a lots to my personality today). Leaf , stick and glue are among my favorites ‘toys’ during my childhood days. A quiet little girl who I was before, but become a friendly person, loves to laugh, and someone who got a good sense of humor now. Being a family type of person, my only son (so far) and family are the priority of my life. A simple person yet very imaginative and always thinks outside the box. Have that sensitive and emotionally part in me, I can get touched and cried easily over a simple matter. However, I am a strong person inside. I love anything that involves art but surprisingly I took challenge to be a science student and grad in Computer Engineering. I was once work as an Engineer, Account Executive and now here I am; a Children Photographer. Finally I’ve found what suit me well. :-)

CGP: When did you start calling yourself a photographer?

EOG: Honestly, I hardly called myself a photographer at 1^st because I thought it was just my hobby and passion. I think I didn’t deserve to be called such title because of lack of knowledge & experience, beside I was just a part-timer. I had my very 1^st client in 2007. Even though I’ve taken quite lots of portraiture jobs at that time, I only had the confidence to call myself a Photographer when I decided to quit my previous job and doing Photography full time and seriously turned my passion into a career and devote all my heart into photography since that. It was in January 2008. Now, I’m proud to call myself a Children Photographer. :-)

CGP: Who's your inspiration?

EOG: My no. 1 inspiration is definitely my son. Anything he does in his life are very special to me and it gives me ideas and new inspirations each day by just looking at him. Talking about professionals, I have too many of inspirations to be listed here. But the main one are Carrie Sandoval and Jodie Otte for newborns, Audrey Woulard, Barb Uil, and Kathy Wolfe for babies, kids & teens, & Tara Whitney for family portraits. I love the soulful images that have been shown in each of their works.

CGP: What other things you'd love to do besides photographing people?

EOG: I love to do activities with my son and family. Anything can be, from relaxing at our home, watching movies, and doing outdoor activities such as picnic, swimming, etc. I also love interior design and love to decorate my home. I also enjoy hanging out with my best friends and having playdates with our kids. Oh! Did I tell you I love singing too?

CGP: What do you think of Creative Genius Printables? *wink*

Because it is hard to get party wear from printables, accessories to cutlery here in Malaysia, my customer decides to commission us to create the party wear based on the character on their accessories so they can get all everything fall under the same theme!

Wednesday Features: KC the Kids Photographer!

It's Wednesday again so it means I will introduce you to someone very important in a party! I am bringing you a very renowned photographer that I've know for almost 6 years! This remarkable mom of three has a really deep passion for photography from the first day I know her. It didn't take long until she ventures into photography business and produces really amazing shots of her clients. There's always a story to tell from each and every moment that she managed to capture.

So, here's the interview with our very own KC of thelittleBIGShots!

CGP: Tell us briefly about yourself.
KC: A mom of two, who accidentally got into photography after taking so many photos of her two lovely daughters and love the joy and fulfillment from doing so.

CGP: When did you start calling yourself a photographer?
KC: Started taking it seriously in 2007 when there were demands from family and friends for birthday and family portraitures.

CGP: Who's your inspiration?
KC: My biggest inspiration would be Anne Geddes, (used to ccollect her calendars) but never yet attempted to do anything adventurous like hers.

CGP: What other things you'd love to do besides photographing people?
KC: I love to document people's lives, and lately found myself into videography using DSLR, so much more can be captured and treasured. You can get motion, sounds and priceless memories at the same time. And i also love to do digital scrap booking, another great way to keep photos organized and memories alive.

CGP: What do you think of Creative Genius Printables? *wink*
KC: A great way to help busy moms out there to have that special something for their loved ones' birthdays or any special occasions. And i really do think all the products are just too cute for words!

I have to confess that every time I create a party set for our customers, it's going to be my favourite! I never thought I could make a layout as sweet as this one considering that we don't have any daughter! I felt so thrilled to be given a chance to make one especially when it turned out as sweet & beautiful as this one. Wouldn't you agree?

This time, the theme is Butterfly kisses where the motif is centered around butterflies with a great hint of pink.

Party Theme: It's LEGO Time!

This is fun! The LEGO birthday party is just perfect for a 6 years old boy. When you talk about LEGO, then it's pretty common to associate it with blocks. Out design consists of illustrations of LEGO blocks and also LEGO man (all created in vector format) and we chose simplicity to portray the LEGO theme design.

Weekend Deal #2!

Sorry for the lack of update! Many things happened last week that our routine went chaotic! We took time to reorganise to make sure that all orders can be delivered right on time. There are still pending jobs and it was all our bad. When it comes to our kids health, everything else will come second. I will put everything behind until my kids are up and running again. I don't mind people telling that I didn't know how to manage my time but my kids deserved 100% of my attention especially when they were sick. I am happy that they are as fit as a fiddle so I can continue with designing without too much worries.

I'm sorry that I have no pictures to share at the moment. We didn't managed to snap finished project because we were so lack of time and by the time it was finished, it straight away delivered to our customer. There are few pics which is still in the CF card and hopefully I can download all them this weekend and show it to you.

I'm more happy to be referred as party prints designer rather than a party planner. A real party planner takes more than just designing. They need to provide all information about party from A-Z that includes recceing a place for the party, choosing a caterer, choosing the cake, plan for games and decoration. I just don't have enough time to fit all that request. I believe that there are mommies out there who still wants to get their hands dirty by cooking & baking their own dishes and cakes and host it at their own place but they lack of time and skills to make custom prints for their own thematic party. What I do is designing for the prints and the nitty gritty of it to complement what you lack of.

When I started with the first design, I usually will try to imagine on how the whole set up will look like. I will write down the list of things that I might need and work out on the type of composition and style that will suit the theme. Even a simple design is not easy to produce. Some people might bluntly said that it was simply a cut-n-paste design without knowing the design process in between.

This is the table that I set up for the Fairies party. I was given a small table and need to efficiently use the space and when I do things, everything must be balanced: balance in tools and colours. (please note that the table set-up service is subject to availability.)

The custom made prints in the frame and the signage to make the guest feel more welcomed.

Cupcakes is a big hit in a party. You can customised your cupcakes by having it's own wrapper & topper. Place in the set up as part of decoration. You can also customised chocolate bar to have it's own wrapper/label!

You can even customised your drinking water to have label to suit your party.

So how's everybody's Eid? We had a very long holidays and we took the chance to revive ourselves. Now we are geared up to designing parties for you!

Last week we had a chance to organize a party for 2 lil adorable kids. Their moms' wanted a Mickey & Minnie theme of red, white & black. We prepared the invitations, goodie bags with crayons & Mickey & Minnie activity book inside, candies, cupcakes, sugar cookies, helium balloons and the party printables like the labels, tags, cupcake wrappers & toppers, alphabet banner, popcorn box, food toppers and other prints for deco. Everything is custom made just for their party!

When it comes to party with TV characters, I will also look for ways to compose a new & fresh look for party. I hate to simply copy the character from the web and just use it without any modification...oh! and the printing quality is going to be horrendous with all the pixelation. I just hate giving poor quality images to my customer. So, I will find my way to get the best image and compose the best design that suits your party.

I have to say that this is by far my favourite party design! I just love the idea of transforming the character in a story book into real life party! This party set consists of food label/topper, prints for the photo frames, cookies wrappers, favours tags, lawn sign & mask.

I have no limitation on what I can design. However, it's is quite challenging to do a theme which is not custom to your own culture but since there's a theme colours for it so it is kind of easy for me to go creative. It's a pink & brown party theme with a prominent character which is a female puppy for my non-muslim customer.

Food topper in assorted shape (come with stick & ribbon)

Topper bouquet for deco, jar labels, small stickers for other goodie item and other prints for deco.

Chocolate wrapper. This one specifically for toblerone chocolate.

New Product: Goodie Bag

I simply love creating something. To me, there's no point of custom made design if you can get the same thing in the store, right? So, for those who are willing to spend and to have something custom made to show how special your guests are, I have a new goodie bag design for you!

This goodie bag is made using the take away lunch paper bag. The colour of the oval handle varies depending on your preferences. You can also opt to have scallop oval handle (meant for girls) and solid oval handle (for boys and even for girls).

Approximate size: 6" wide X 10" height X 3" depth. The height of the bag can be shortened however the price is just the same.

This is a picture of me holding the bag where I put one box containing a glass mug. We use cardstock as the handle border so it helps the bag to hold the weight you put in it. Thus, it's pretty durable. Actually the paper can be more durable than paper bag itself but since we have a hole as the handle the durability may decrease as we afraid the handle will tear off if too heavy (heavier than your normal size of glass mug) stuff were to put in it. So if you were to throw some party item for the kids like the candies, balloons, some colouring pencils and notebook, I don't see it as much of a problem.

I would also suggest for you to add a base of corrugated cardboard as the base so the bottom will remain flat when heavy stuff were to put in it.

Price for 30 pcs and above = RM1.70 with your choice of coloured handle and 3.5" custom made label(without the corrugated cardboard base).

Please add RM0.10 for each bag for the corrugated cardboard base if you need it.

Any order lower than 30 pcs will be calculated based on our cost margin.

Party Prints for Decorations

It's interesting to see the evolution of a birthday party from a simple celebration of blowing up the candle up till creating the fantasy into a reality. I feel that having a couple of people to come over and celebrate the special day with you would simply make anybody smile. A smile of gratefulness that God still let you breath the air and that you're surrounded by people who still care. In return you try to make your party as cozy and as fun as possible for all your guests. One way of doing so is by creating the mood with all your decorations which include the cakes, foods, desserts, goodies ..just to name a few.

So, here's a sample of deco I made for a customer who wanted a lady bug party for her lil girl. The theme colour is red-green-white. You can make this as your centerpiece or just simply put it on your decoration table.

and when I see this, an idea just popped in my head. I might do a lil project to decorate my boy's room. It's really in big mess now. I might need to take a break to rearrange their room and make deco from my prints!

Memopad/ Notepad Cover

I love collecting notebooks. So whenever I saw one that was interesting I would simply buy. Most of the time I won't use it sbb sayang tee-hee! The other day when I went to MPH, I saw this long notebook that say "live well, laugh often, love much!"...so cool eh but it didn't have any cover and it costs RM5.50. I bought it and thinking that I can make a cover for it (well, I'm a crafter, that's what a crafter will do!).

Last weekend when I made the tea sachet cover, I mentioned that the cover could be a notebook cover as well. So, I made this sample (actually my son wanted one after he saw the one I made above.) I used memopad and simply sticked it to the cover (you can't simply take it away and unable to replace a new one when finish).

This is perfect as a favour to your guest. You can also request for a sleeve like here if you want to make the cover reusable over time. The design is custom made so printed version of the cover is always available.

New product in the house!!!

My mind is constantly thinking on new products to introduce to people. (well, I'm a crafter by nature.) I love making personalised thing truly personalised in the sense that it won't be something that you can simply grab at the store. When people look at it, they know that it was cater personally for you. I love making something to look good and more presentable. Whenever I was sitting on the passenger seat, I would have paper on my hand and that was when my creative process begin (well, that's the only time that I can really sit and think!) So that's basically 30-1 hr minutes journey to work and another 30-1hr minutes journey coming home. Arrived home, spent quality time with the children until they went to bed. Then it's time to materialize my thinking until 2am in the morning. So when people ask where did I find time to do all these? I said I make time for it. I rarely watch tv and I focus in my work. To make this as a part time job is crazy & tiring in deed but I don't make excuse for something that I really really love doing! *wink*

Tea Sachet Cover

I think I'm more a crafter rather than a business woman that I don't mind spending my precious hours thinking on how to produce something beautiful... something that people won't simply throw away. So when a customer came to me and asked me to come up with some packaging for a girl's tea party, so I said "Why not get a mug for each of the girls and I'll make a tea sachet cover to go with that?" She agreed!

So, this is how the tea sachet cover looks like. It made of cardstock & scrapbook pattern paper. I made nested label in curly bracket shape and stamp the phrase on it. I attached ribbon at the front and the back of the cover. Inside, I put up sleeve so the tea sachet would go perfectly in it. As I made this cover, I thought it would be nice it I make this as small notebook cover! I can slip the back cover of the note book into the sleeve. When you finish with all pages, you can slip that out and replace with the new one!

So, I decide to give him a job by offering client a Professional LOGO designs. All LOGOs are created using Illustrator and will be given in vector and high quality PDF format. Please note these are professional LOGO intended for a small company(enterprise). Price starts at RM300 with free name card design.

Don't be afraid as we also offer logo for home-business too! Logo will be created in illustrator using text & basic shapes only (no illusttration of images etc).
